ABS AUSTRALIA SIRES CLAIM TOP SPOTS ON AUGUST ABV LISTAlbury, NSW - September 18, 2006 – Five Holstein and two Jersey ABS Australia sires earned spots in the top 25 on the August 2006 Top 200 ABV list. “ABS is very excited to have 4 of the top 10 APR Holstein sires in the August 2006 ABV Run,” stated Geoff Wood, Global Dairy Product Manager. “2006 graduates including VEE, BERDON and VACUM claimed top spots while proven bulls including DONOR and FLOWERPOWER maintained their elite status on the ABV list.” February 2006 graduate, 29HO15202 Auldreekie Webster VEE-ET climbed into the Top 10, ranked at number four, with an impressive +127 APR and +129 ASI based on a very reliable 109 daughters. VEE comes from a unique sire stack being a Webster x Boudewijn x Largo. A strong component and production family, both of VEE’s dams are 4.0% or better for fat with over 10,500 litres. Claiming the fifth spot on the ABV list is 29HO15215 St. Clair BERDON. BERDON is a unique DONOR son as he combines milk flow with extremely high components for both fat and protein. These components come from the Basar dam and her cow family. BERDON sires moderate-sized, dairy cows that stand on a tremendous set of feet and legs. He also excels in health and management traits with an impressive SCC score of -24%. ABS Australia favorite, 29HO15007 Elite Mountain DONOR-IMP-ET, claimed the sixth spot on the ABV list with +129 APR and +106 ASI. With well over 25,000 daughters in Australia alone plus nearly 11,000 daughters milking in New Zealand, DONOR is a high reliability Diamond Sire with many high-scoring daughters and sons in A.I across the world. During his seven years on the ABV list, he has held the top spot six times, second spot five times and has never fallen below number six on the list. DONOR daughters are moderate-sized and deep bodied. They have both high quantity and quality milk through his high production, high protein components, and low SCC scores. 29HO15029 Miludell Patron DARNAM-ET continues to sit inside the Top 20 ABV bulls, at number fourteen, after availabilities are taken into account, and has since graduating in February 2003. High protein yield, sound type and high farmer likeability continue to make DARNAM very popular with profit minded dairy farmers. 29HO15212 Auldreekie Addison VACUM-ET is an Addison son from the Largo granddam of VEE. He is currently holding the fifteenth spot after availabilities are taken into account on the ABV list. VACUM sires moderate-sized daughters with well attached udders and tremendous style and balance. He continues to excel in all health and management traits at +1.9% Daughter Fertility and +5.0% Survival. The first of the two ABS Jersey sires in the top 20 on the ABV list, 29JE3359 Claydon Park FLOWERPOWER, claimed the eighth position. He is the highest ranked milk and protein solids sire in the Top 10 ABV and the highest ranked udder bull in the Top 20 ABV. FLOWERPOWER sires daughters that are extremely dairy and angular, with high, wide rear udder attachments. He is the highest ranked milk and component sire in the Top 10 ABV being +939 litres for Milk and +32 kgs for Protein. 29JE3419 Rowntree Jugiong IMAGUN has climbed dramatically on the ABV list to now rank thirteenth with an increase of +17 APR and +20 ASI. IMAGUN is a Berretta Fair son that sires high producing daughters with great fat and protein components.
